Volunteer Opportunities

How can I be a part of the school?

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

Join the PTA - Be empowered, be informed, and be responsible. It's a great way to connect with other Willow families while making visible and tangible differences at our school. PTA meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Willow Springs Library or join with Zoom.

Learn about the many volunteer opportunities at Willow Springs and visit our PTA website.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are essential to the success of Fairfax County Public Schools. Many enriching and worthwhile experiences are afforded to our children through the volunteer help from parents. Every day, volunteers change the lives of students across FCPS and we offer several ways for people in the community to get involved.

WSES welcomes volunteers in many capacities. Please attend volunteer training to learn more and to sign up!

Watch D.O.G.S

Have you heard about our Watch D.O.G.S? The Watch D.O.G.S group is our group of men who volunteer at school and help the school as needed during the day. You can be a dad, stepdad, grandpa, or uncle. Sign up for a time that fits your schedule as many or as few times as your schedule allows. Sign up with SignUpGenius.

Watch D.O.G.S. stands for Dads OGreat Students. The program began in 1998 in Springdale, Arkansas, and has grown nationally. The purpose is to allow father figures to be positive role models in schools while providing extra eyes for safety and security. Here at Willow Springs, our dads will spend their day volunteering in classrooms, as well as assisting with bus duty, Kiss-N-Ride, and lunchtime. For more information about this National program, please visit their website. Please contact the main office for more information about this program at our school.

FCPS Cares

FCPS Cares is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.

Business and Community Partnerships

The Business and Community Partnerships office’s primary functions are to recruit and support Ignite Partnerships, serve as a liaison to local Chambers of Commerce and other community organizations, help lead the annual Collect for Kids school supply drive, manage the FCPS Donations Portal for donated goods, and promote the Savings for Staff merchant discount program.

In the last decade, the Business & Community Partnerships team has helped secure over ten million dollars in donations of money and valued goods through partnerships and direct donations, not including the value of volunteer hours contributed by partners and mentors.
